After nearly back to back urban rallies we are ready for some time in the woods! We headed down to Cummings, Georgia to see my my recently transplanted daughter and some dear Airstream friends.
We stayed at the Sawnee Campground- a lovely Army Core of Engineers campground now managed by Forsyth County Parks. We really love the COE designed campgrounds- they tend to have lots of space and be well thought out. We did some hiking around Lake Lanier and visited Helen, Georgia- a town that is mostly famous for making itself into a German “Bavaria in Georgia” themed town…everything is has a German look, with lots of German food.
