2024 Misc
So I’ll lump these under “Airstream Adventures” but sometimes we do other fun stuff as well. So this is just a quick synopsis- it’s just as much so we can remember as it is for anyone who might read our blog!
June – Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho
Melinda almost always has a separate trip with some her friends- they are all badass hikers and I’d probably slow them all down! But it’s good for her to have time with her girlfriends and they always go someplace incredible- as I tell her, I’m always envious of their trips, but never jealous. One thing about us getting together so late in life is that we’ve each had our own set of adventures and we can go back and re-explore places together- so at some point we’ll take Tess and do a big tour of Idaho together.
August- Iceland
I won’t go into big details, but you can read all about our trip to Iceland here. I will say this, you’ve got to want Iceland!
September- Ford Tri-Motor Flight
We had an opportunity to take a flight in a 1929 Ford Tri-Motor plane- the first commercial passenger plane. After 20 years of restoration from storm damage, it now travels the country as an EAA fundraiser to help kids learn to fly. It was exciting and fun to time travel back in this beautiful machine!
October – Shiny Happy (?) Skydivers @ SkyDive Raleigh
Both Melinda and our 81 year old friend Bruce celebrate birthdays in October, and they decided to go skydiving to celebrate. While never on my bucket list I tagged along, because why the heck not? I had a moment of doubt, but really enjoyed doing it!
